The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, formerly known as the Dade County Sheriff's Office, Dade County Public Safety Department, Metro-Dade Police Department,
and Miami-Dade Police Department, is a law enforcement agency serving Miami-Dade County, Florida. The department is still often referred by its former name, the Metro-Dade Police or simply Metro.
