The Lambda-CDM, Lambda cold dark matter, or ΛCDM model is a mathematical model of the Big Bang theory with three major components:
a cosmological constant, denoted by lambda, associated with dark energy;
the postulated cold dark matter, denoted by CDM;
ordinary matter.
