Miguel Angel Cardona is an American educator who served as the 12th United States secretary of education under President Joe Biden from March 2, 2021 to January 20, 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate by a vote of 64–33 on March 1, 2021.
