Zoe Treadwell Jailed for Life for Murder in Bournemouth Vehicle Attacks

Police describe a feud-driven case of mistaken identity that led to a second planned attack weeks later.

Overview

  • Winchester Crown Court sentenced Treadwell, 36, to life with a minimum term of 35 years and jailed Jonjay Harrison, 25, for 32 years for attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.
  • Treadwell deliberately pursued and rammed 28-year-old Joey Johnstone with her Range Rover on 9 April 2025 at speeds up to about 75 mph, causing fatal head injuries.
  • Three weeks later, Harrison drove a Mercedes onto a pavement and struck an e-bike on 1 May 2025, seriously injuring Joshua Lovell and causing a partial leg amputation to passenger Free Jenkins.
  • Detectives linked the two collisions through CCTV, witness accounts, forensic analysis and phone data indicating Treadwell provided money used to obtain the Mercedes.
  • Prosecutors and police said cars were used as weapons in a long-running dispute and that Johnstone was killed after being wrongly identified as Treadwell’s intended target.
