The actress has a close relationship with Gunn, having supported him during his brief firing from Disney over resurfaced tweets.
Saldana's departure from the MCU was due to feeling 'artistically stuck' in her role as Gamora, and wanting to explore different roles across genres.
Currently, Saldana is starring in the Paramount+ series 'Special Ops: Lioness', where she plays a CIA officer.
