Ziro Honour Run Draws Over 800 in Arunachal as Governor Parnaik Leads Tribute to 1962 Heroes
The Army framed the Ziro Valley run as a prelude to National Solidarity Day.

- Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik flagged off the Army-organised event at Ziro’s Central Dree Ground and later presented medals and cash prizes.
- More than 800 participants from the Army, Air Force, ITBP, NCC, schools and the public took part across categories, including nearly 100 women.
- The race featured 21‑km, 10‑km and 5‑km events with winners named across age groups, including Tekeshwar Kurmi, Samir Kolye and Makakmayum.
- Officials said the run honored the sacrifices of 1962 war heroes, with the governor recalling Rifleman Neelam Tebi and meeting the Shaurya Motorcycle Rally team.
