Zayda Steel Declines To Renew WWE ID Contract

She cast the move as a personal career choice following a year in WWE’s Independent Development program that allowed outside bookings.

Overview

  • Steel announced on X that she will not renew, expressing gratitude for the experience and saying she is focused on what is best for her career at age 21.
  • She was among the first prospects revealed for WWE ID in late 2024 and became a regular on WWE EVOLVE as part of the Vanity Project.
  • In August she wrestled in the inaugural WWE ID Women’s Championship triple threat with Kylie Rae and Zara Zakher; Rae won and later vacated the title due to pregnancy.
  • She has remained active on the independent scene, most recently working ETU Wrestling’s I Really Mean It show on Sept. 28.
  • Her departure aligns with recent turnover in WWE ID, including Freedom Ramsay leaving in March and August releases of Ice Williams, Jordan Oasis, and Aaron Roberts.
