Zardari Visits Kashgar’s Etigar Mosque on China Tour

  • President Asif Ali Zardari visited the Etigar Mosque in Kashgar, was received by CPC Kashgar chief Yao Ning and Imam Maimaiti Juben, and offered the Asr prayer.
  • The President House said the visit further consolidated the countries’ friendship with shared goals of peace, stability and prosperity.
  • In Ürümqi, Zardari met Xinjiang Party Secretary Chen Xiaojiang, voiced hopes for road access between Xinjiang and northern Pakistan, and reaffirmed cooperation against terrorism and extremism.
  • He toured the Kashgar Free Trade Zone, which links to Pakistan’s Sost and Gwadar ports, and reviewed briefings on its logistics, bonded warehousing and digital trade operations.
  • Later, he met Serene Air CEO Yunchun Yang to urge expanded connectivity as the Chinese‑invested Pakistani carrier pledged further investment, and he visited Kashgar University to promote academic exchange with Pakistani students.
