Zara Shutters First-Ever A Coruña Store on Jan. 30 as Zacaffé Debuts at Flagship Jan. 31

The move reflects Inditex's shift toward larger flagship formats with online–offline integration.

Overview

  • Inditex confirmed the closure and notified the staff and the building’s owners on Thursday.
  • About 11 employees from the Juan Flórez location will be reassigned to other Zara stores in A Coruña, including the Compostela flagship.
  • The Juan Flórez site is roughly 300 square meters, which no longer fits the company’s multi-category, flagship model, while the Compostela store exceeds 2,400 square meters.
  • A Zacaffé space will open on Jan. 31 on the ground floor of the Compostela Zara, with direct access from Plaza de Mina.
  • Opened in 1975 and refreshed for Zara’s 50th anniversary, the original shop closes as A Coruña continues to serve as a testing ground for Inditex concepts.
