Zakia Khudadadi Wins First Paralympic Medal for Refugee Team

Afghan taekwondo athlete's historic bronze symbolizes hope for refugees and Afghan women amid Taliban restrictions.

Khudadadi, born without a forearm, won bronze in the women's taekwondo K44 -47kg category.
She fled Afghanistan in 2021 following a viral plea for help during the Taliban takeover.
Now living and training in France, Khudadadi dedicates her medal to Afghan women and refugees worldwide.
Her victory was celebrated by a supportive crowd and her French coach at the Paris Paralympics.
