Yuval Raphael, Survivor of Hamas Attack, to Represent Israel at Eurovision 2025

Yuval Raphael survived the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel's Nova Festival by hiding under bodies for eight hours in a roadside bunker.
She recently won Israel's 'Hakochav Haba' competition, securing her spot at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, this year.
Raphael, a newcomer to music, began singing as a therapeutic outlet to cope with the trauma of the massacre, which claimed 364 lives at the festival.
She plans to use her Eurovision performance to share her personal story and highlight the resilience of her country, despite anticipating potential backlash and boos from the audience.
The song she will perform at Eurovision has yet to be selected, and she must first compete in the semifinals to secure her place in the grand finale on May 17, 2025.
