YPF and McDonald’s Open First Restaurant Inside a YPF Black Station

The pilot links McDonald’s to YPF’s premium Full format to expand food and retail services at fuel sites with further openings dependent on Arcos Dorados’ commercial decisions.

Overview

  • The first McDonald’s inside a YPF Black station opened in Vicente López on Thursday, marking the concrete debut of the June agreement between YPF and Arcos Dorados.
  • The restaurant is integrated into the station’s Full convenience store, became McDonald’s local number 237 in Argentina, and sits in YPF Black Melo, the chain’s fourth Black-format site.
  • The partners outlined a three-format rollout that includes independent on-site restaurants, McDonald’s units integrated into Full with shared space, and co-located outlets with separate service areas, and some sites could feature AutoMac drive-thru service.
  • YPF says it will offer selected stations to Arcos Dorados but final openings will be decided by McDonald’s, and YPF will install its own CARNE-brand concept where McDonald’s opts not to open.
  • Reports say the deal could reach up to 100 locations and that the next McDonald’s in the network is expected in 2027, though those scope and timing figures remain company projections and YPF is separately negotiating ties with Mercado Libre.
