Overview
- The new watch screen is appearing on select devices, with reports of availability on Nvidia Shield, Chromecast and some Google TV streamers, while some Apple TV units show it and others do not yet.
- The title now sits in the top-left corner, with a new Description button providing access to creator information and video details.
- Controls are grouped under the scrubber with channel, description and subscribe on the left, playback in the center, and likes, comments, save, captions and settings on the right.
- The Subscribe button remains visible and adapts for pay-gated videos or “Notify me” on upcoming livestreams, though some testing noted inconsistent behavior.
- Feature additions include Multiview for live sports and a Display Mode for YouTube Music and Premium subscribers, alongside a navigation change where left/right on the remote opens the UI instead of skipping.
