YouTuber Deestroying, real name Donald De La Haye, has signed with the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL).
Deestroying, a former University of Central Florida kicker, has not played professionally since 2021 when he was on the practice squad of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.
The UFL is a spring football competition that emerged from the merger of the XFL and USFL at the end of 2023.
Deestroying's signing is seen as a significant boost for the UFL's credibility and appeal, especially among younger demographics, due to his online presence and 5.7 million YouTube subscribers.
Deestroying was disqualified from UCF and the NCAA due to his YouTube channel, which led to a change in NCAA rules allowing athletes to profit from their name and image.
