YouTube TV Raises Monthly Subscription Price to $83

The streaming service cites rising content costs and service investments as reasons for the $10 price hike starting January 2025 for existing users.

YouTube TV's base plan price will increase from $72.99 to $82.99 per month, effective January 13, 2025, for existing subscribers and immediately for new users.
The company attributes the 14% price hike to growing content acquisition costs and ongoing investments in service quality, such as unlimited DVR storage and multiview capabilities.
This marks the fourth significant price increase since YouTube TV launched in 2017 at $35 per month, reflecting a 137% rise over seven years.
Subscribers have expressed frustration online, with some considering switching back to cable or alternative streaming services due to the rising costs.
Despite the price increases, YouTube TV remains a leading streaming platform with over 8 million subscribers and is projected to become the largest U.S. pay-TV distributor by 2026.
