Overview

  • On July 21, YouTube will shut down its Trending page and Trending Now list after ten years of showcasing a single viral video feed.
  • Viewers will be guided to YouTube Charts, which currently feature Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcast Shows and Trending Movie Trailers.
  • Personalized video suggestions will remain available on users’ Home feeds while non-personalized browsing can be done through Explore, creator channels and subscriptions.
  • Trending gaming videos will continue to be accessible via the Gaming Explore page and additional chart categories are slated to roll out over time.
  • The move responds to a sharp decline in visits to the universal Trending list as viewers increasingly discover micro-trends through algorithms, Shorts and community hubs.
