YouTube Restructures Product Organization for AI Push, Offers Voluntary Buyouts

The overhaul channels work into three teams reporting to CEO Neal Mohan to accelerate AI-driven decisions starting Nov. 5.

  • YouTube announced a Voluntary Exit Program for eligible U.S. employees in Neal Mohan’s direct-reporting organization, offering severance with details to be shared separately.
  • The company said there are no role eliminations as part of the restructuring.
  • Product development is being realigned into three groups — Viewer Products, Creator & Community Products, and Subscription Products — each reporting directly to Mohan.
  • Johanna Voolich will lead Viewer Products, Christian Oestlien will lead Subscription Products, and YouTube is launching a search for a Creator & Community leader with Voolich covering in the interim.
  • The reorganization takes effect Nov. 5 and comes as tech companies refocus around AI, with Amazon reporting plans this week to cut about 14,000 corporate jobs.
