YouTube Introduces Notes Feature to Combat Misinformation

The new tool allows users to add contextual notes to videos, aiming to clarify content and reduce misleading information.

The Notes feature is being piloted in the U.S. for English-language videos on mobile devices.
Selected users with active YouTube channels in good standing will be invited to contribute notes.
Third-party evaluators will initially assess the accuracy and helpfulness of notes.
Viewers will be able to rate notes as helpful, somewhat helpful, or unhelpful, influencing their visibility.
The initiative is part of YouTube's effort to address misinformation, especially ahead of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
