YouTube Ending Stories Feature in Favor of More Popular Shorts

YouTube announced its Stories feature will shut down on June 26, 2023.
The company wants to focus its efforts on Shorts, Community posts, and live videos instead.
YouTube Stories struggled to gain much traction after launching in 2017.
In contrast, YouTube Shorts, the company's TikTok competitor, reached 1.5 billion monthly viewers in 2022.
Existing YouTube Stories will disappear one week after the shutdown date.
