Overview
- YouTube began rolling out Custom Feeds and the redesigned top navigation on Oct. 22–23 to signed-in, English-language users in the U.S., with a phased expansion planned.
- Users can tap a '+' at the top of Home, type natural-language prompts to build dedicated streams, and have those feeds automatically updated and synced between mobile and desktop.
- The mobile and desktop Home now shows Subscriptions in a top-bar tab and adds dedicated top tabs for Live and Music while showing Movies & TV only for viewers with active paid channel subscriptions.
- Saved-feed limits and requirements are enforced: free accounts may save up to three active Custom Feeds, YouTube Premium members up to eight, and the feature requires watch and search history to be enabled.
- The redesign builds on earlier tests and shifts long-standing habits by moving Subscriptions out of the bottom navigation, a change that could alter how many users find new and followed content.
