Overview
- Woolwich Crown Court imposed a life sentence with a 42-year minimum term for the murders of Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, which the judge called "premeditated and thoroughly wicked."
- Moments before sentencing, Mosquera pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children and received a concurrent 16-month term for at least 1,500 category A items plus hundreds more in categories B and C.
- Prosecutors said Mosquera killed the partners on July 8, 2024, decapitated and dismembered them, left suitcases with remains near Clifton Suspension Bridge, and stored the heads in a chest freezer at their Shepherd's Bush flat.
- Evidence included CCTV and filmed footage of one killing, internet searches about fatal head blows and freezers, and records showing he ordered a chest freezer in the lead-up to the attacks.
- After the murders he accessed the victims' financial data, tried to move £4,000 to Colombia, and, the judge said, appeared intent on profiting from their property, while police described the case as one of their most harrowing and noted work with the LGBT+ advisory group.
