Akiyama Returns to Homeland After 12 Years, Eager to Impress Fans Against Striking Specialist Holzken

Yoshihiro Akiyama, also known as 'Sexyama', is set to face Dutch kickboxing legend Nieky Holzken in a special rules super-fight at ONE 165: Superlek vs. Takeru on Sunday, January 28, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
The innovative match will see both men compete under boxing rules in the first round, kickboxing in the second, and MMA in the third.
Akiyama, a Japanese martial arts icon, is making his return to his homeland after 12 years and is eager to put on a show for his fans.
The 48-year-old Akiyama is coming off a massive second-round knockout win over fellow Japanese martial arts icon Shinya Aoki at ONE X in March 2022.
Holzken, known as 'The Natural', has over 100 bouts to his name and is a striking specialist, making him a formidable opponent for Akiyama.
