York County Shooting: Authorities Identify Shooter and 3 Fallen Officers, Update on Two Wounded

Investigators say officers serving a domestic-related warrant entered an unlocked home where the suspect opened fire.

Overview

  • Officials named the shooter as 24-year-old Matthew Ruth, who was sought in a stalking and criminal trespass case involving his ex-girlfriend.
  • The three officers killed were Sgt. Isaiah Emenheiser, 43; Det. Sgt. Cody Becker, 39; and Det. Mark Baker, 53, all from the Northern York County Regional Police Department.
