Prosecutors say a 24-year-old stalking suspect armed with an AR-style rifle lay in wait inside the home.

Overview

  • Services begin at noon at Living Word Community Church in Red Lion and are closed to the public, with livestreams available through multiple outlets and a viewing site at Chapel Church.
  • A morning procession of cruisers, motorcycles and hearses escorted the officers from a York County funeral home to the church as law enforcement lined the route.
  • Detective Sgt. Cody Becker, 39, Detective Mark Baker, 53, and Detective Isaiah Emenheiser, 43, were killed Sept. 17 while approaching an unlocked farmhouse door during a domestic-stalking investigation in North Codorus Township.
  • Two other officers were shot and wounded in the attack; Lt. David Godfrey has been upgraded to satisfactory condition as the gunman, identified as Matthew James Ruth, died in the exchange of gunfire.
  • Autopsies found the detectives died of multiple gunshot wounds, the burials are private, and a public funeral for Sgt. Becker is scheduled Sunday at Spring Grove High School.
