Yokohama F. Marinos Advance to Asian Champions League Round of 16

Victory marks the end of Kevin Muscat's tenure as Yokohama's coach, with Shandong also advancing despite loss.

Yokohama F. Marinos of Japan advanced to the round of 16 in the Asian Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Shandong Taishan of China.
This was the final game for Yokohama's coach Kevin Muscat, who led the team to the Japanese title in 2022 and is stepping down after more than two years.
The Brazilian trio of Elber, Anderson Lopes and Yan Matheus scored for Yokohama.
Shandong also advanced to the round of 16, despite losing to Yokohama, and Incheon United of South Korea was eliminated.
Other teams advancing to the second stage include Ventforet Kofu, Kawasaki Frontale, Pohang Steelers, Jeonbuk Motors, Ulsan, and Bangkok United.
