Yogi Sets Dec. 11 Target, Mobilizes BJP for UP Voter Roll Revision

Deputy chief ministers will each oversee 25 districts with party activity paused to focus on booth-level enumeration.

Overview

  • The chief minister told BJP MPs and MLAs to skip weddings and other social events for the next week and to prioritize the Special Intensive Revision, with party campaigns kept on hold until the work finishes.
  • He directed legislators to be present at every booth to secure 100% submission of enumeration forms and to promptly report irregularities to district authorities.
  • He ordered removal of deceased, duplicate and otherwise ineligible names and said no Rohingya or Bangladeshi entrant should remain on the voter rolls.
  • Officials reported thousands of duplicate entries and large numbers of suspicious registrations, including people listed at multiple locations and attempts to add minors using fake documents.
  • Reviewing progress in Aligarh, he praised some areas but called out slow work in Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Balrampur and pressed for faster completion.
