Overview

• On August 29, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister inspected ongoing conservation work at the Varanasi campus under the National Mission for Manuscripts.
• He instructed officials to accelerate the preservation of rare Sanskrit manuscripts and said the state government would provide every possible support.
• Activities are being carried out at the university’s extension building by the National Mission for Manuscripts with support from the Government of India.
• He also reviewed progress on the Saraswati Bhavan Library and asked about other construction projects on site.
• Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma called the visit the chief minister’s third to the campus and affirmed the university’s commitment to speeding up the effort.
