Yogi Adityanath Orders Faster Delivery of Naval Shaurya Museum in Lucknow

The museum is envisioned as a technology-driven experience center that brings India’s maritime legacy to the public.

Overview

  • During a Culture Department review on October 30, the chief minister directed early completion of the planned museum in the state capital.
  • Launched in 2022 with an initial December 2024 target, the project is about 30% complete and is now expected to need at least another year near Ekana Stadium in CG City.
  • The plan is split into the INS Gomati Shaurya Smarak and the Nausena Shaurya Vatika, with the decommissioned frigate INS Gomati to be preserved for public display.
  • A TU-142 maritime surveillance aircraft is being installed in the garden, with a Sea King SK-42B helicopter exhibition proposed as an additional draw.
  • The complex will feature a ship-inspired, energy-sensitive design and immersive attractions such as a 7D theatre and naval simulators, with an oversight committee led by the Director General of Tourism guiding execution.
