Overview
- The four-lane, 91.35-kilometre corridor runs from Jaitpur near Gorakhpur to Salarpur in Azamgarh, integrating with the Purvanchal Expressway.
- The ₹7,283.28 crore project included acquisition of 1,148.77 hectares from 172 villages, with ₹2,030.29 crore disbursed to 22,029 farmers.
- Officials say travel between Gorakhpur and Lucknow will now take about 3.5 hours and local trips, such as Gorakhpur to Urwa, under 25 minutes.
- Advanced traffic management systems—including CCTV surveillance, automatic number-plate recognition and speed monitoring—have been installed along with a dedicated security fleet.
