Yogi Adityanath Lays Foundation for Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission Headquarters in Lucknow

The six-storey, Rs 50 crore facility is billed as a modernization to manage Uttar Pradesh’s vast local elections.

  • The foundation stone was laid on Friday at Awadh Vihar Yojna in Lucknow for a dedicated office of the State Election Commission.
  • The project is planned at an estimated cost of about Rs 50 crore with a 2,618.59 sq m footprint across six floors including a stilt level.
  • Rajkiya Nirman Nigam has been named the executing agency with a government-stated target of completing construction in 18 months.
  • Planned features include a 25,000-litre roof tank, a 1,00,000-litre underground tank, rainwater harvesting, a 25 KLD sewage treatment plant, CCTV coverage, and three passenger lifts.
  • Officials said the building will replace rented premises and support administration of elections spanning 57,600 gram panchayats, numerous urban bodies, and over 12 crore panchayat voters.
