Yogi Adityanath Launches Sweeping Infrastructure Push in Bhadohi and Ghazipur

Overview

  • Adityanath approved a bridge over the Ganga at Dengurpur in Sitamarhi and a railway overpass between Gopiganj and Mirzapur to enhance road and rail links in Bhadohi.
  • Bhadohi’s carpet industry has been revitalized through state and central support, securing a GI tag, the Carpet Expo Mart and accounting for over 60% of the state’s carpet exports.
  • Work on the stalled Bhadohi district hospital has resumed with a 50-bed critical care centre and building renovations due by December 2025, and plans for a medical college under a public-private partnership are in progress.
  • Ghazipur has been declared mafia-free, with directives for zero tolerance against land, mining and forest mafias and a recent police recruitment drive adding 1,534 officers from the district.
  • The district is executing ₹1,100 crore in projects including the Andhau-Chaukiya bypass, planned expressway extensions and corridor developments at Chitnath and Collector ghats, alongside Jal Jeevan Mission water connections, women’s self-help group initiatives and a campaign to eliminate tuberculosis by December 2025.
