Overview
- Grants of Rs 4–10 crore will go to municipal bodies based on population and efficiency, with projects selected to local needs and funding tied to progress.
- Municipalities will receive standardized upgrades including Gaurav Path, pink toilets, urban facility centres, smart classrooms, anganwadis, theme parks, heritage works, reservoir revival, EV charging, green crematoriums and digital services.
- A hub-and-spoke model will link district-headquarter municipalities to Integrated Command and Control Centres in Lucknow and Gorakhpur for monitoring, security and grievance redressal.
- A proposal advances 200 electric buses on the Lucknow–Kanpur route under a net cost contract and the direct purchase of 650 buses for other cities, with charging infrastructure to be built quickly.
- Financial approval limits for Municipal Commissioners, Mayors, Executive Committees and Corporation Boards will be expanded immediately after remaining unchanged for roughly two decades in line with the 74th Constitutional Amendment.
