Yogi Adityanath Highlights Sambhal's Ancient Roots and Criticizes Glorification of Invaders

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister emphasized Sambhal's significance in Hindu scriptures and condemned the erasure of India's heritage by foreign invaders.

Yogi Adityanath stated that Sambhal is referenced in Hindu scriptures written over 5,000 years ago, predating the advent of Islam by millennia.
He criticized the destruction of Sambhal's Hari Vishnu temple in 1526 by Mughal commander Mir Baqi, calling for an end to the glorification of foreign invaders like Aurangzeb.
Adityanath revealed that only 18 of the 68 pilgrimage sites in Sambhal have been rediscovered, with Jalabhishek performed at a Shiva temple after 56 years.
The Chief Minister praised the recently concluded Mahakumbh-2025 for revitalizing Uttar Pradesh's heritage and showcasing the essence of Sanatan Dharma to the world.
He condemned previous governments for neglecting sacred sites and accused them of allowing illegal encroachments, which his administration has worked to reverse.
