Yoga Connect Summit Opens in New Delhi as India Prepares for International Day of Yoga

More than 1,000 in-person and online attendees are participating in thematic sessions alongside the unveiling of CCRYN’s decade-long study on yoga’s impact.

  • The Ministry of Ayush’s day-long Yoga Connect summit kicked off on June 14 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, as a lead-up to the 11th International Day of Yoga.
  • Organized by the Ayush Ministry and coordinated by the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), the hybrid event hosts over 1,000 in-person participants alongside global virtual delegates.
  • Yoga luminaries Baba Ramdev, Acharya Balakrishna, H R Nagendra, Bikkhu Sanghasena and Bharath Bhushan are joined by health experts and wellness advocates from Bahrain, the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea.
  • A key highlight is the release of Yoga Prabhava, a nationwide CCRYN study assessing the impact of IDY over the past decade, supported by a scientometric analysis of yoga research and an illustrative booklet on native Indian trees.
  • The summit’s thematic sessions cover yoga for non-communicable disease prevention, Yoga-Tech innovations, women’s health and the Common Yoga Protocol ahead of June 21 celebrations in Visakhapatnam led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
