Yelp Introduces AI-Generated Business Summaries in Major Update

The new feature, currently available on iOS, uses large language models to parse user reviews and generate summaries highlighting key aspects of businesses.

Yelp has announced over 20 updates, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to generate business summaries based on user reviews.
The AI-generated summaries will highlight what a business is best known for, such as atmosphere, service, amenities, value, or a popular dish.
The new feature is currently available on iOS and will be rolled out to Android and desktop later in 2024.
Businesses and users cannot currently alter the AI-generated summaries, but can report issues to Yelp Support for review.
Yelp's update also includes a visually enhanced home feed and search experience, and a 'Recognitions' program to reward passionate reviewers.
