'Yellowstone' Creator's Ranch Sues Star's Coffee Company Over Trademark Infringement

Bosque Ranch, owned by Taylor Sheridan, alleges that Cole Hauser's Free Rein Coffee Company's logo is strikingly similar to its own, leading to a lawsuit for trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising.

Taylor Sheridan's Bosque Ranch has filed a lawsuit against Yellowstone actor Cole Hauser's coffee company, Free Rein, for trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising.
The lawsuit alleges that Free Rein's logo, which features two overlapping letters 'F' and 'R', is strikingly similar to Bosque Ranch's registered trademark logo, which features overlapping letters 'B' and 'R'.
Bosque Ranch launched its own coffee brand in collaboration with Community Coffee in June 2023, while Hauser's Free Rein Coffee Company was launched in October 2023.
The lawsuit claims that neither Hauser nor Free Rein asked or received permission from Sheridan or Bosque Ranch to use a mark that is confusingly similar to the 'BR' brand for virtually identical goods.
Bosque Ranch is seeking a trial by jury and is asking the court to permanently stop Free Rein from using the 'FR' brand, destroy all products, marketing, and promotional materials displaying the 'FR' brand, and award Bosque Ranch compensatory damages associated with Free Rein's past use and infringement of the 'BR' brand.
