Yankees Trade Jake Bauers to Brewers for Prospects Jace Avina and Brian Sánchez

Bauers, who hit 12 home runs but had a .202 average in the 2023 season, is traded for two young outfielders.

Jake Bauers, a 28-year-old outfielder and first baseman, has been traded by the New York Yankees to the Milwaukee Brewers.
In exchange for Bauers, the Yankees have received two young minor league outfielders, Jace Avina and Brian Sánchez.
Bauers, who hit 12 home runs but had a .202 average in the 2023 season, is controllable for three more seasons.
Avina, 20, finished his first season at Low-A ball with an .815 OPS and 14 home runs in 99 games.
Sánchez, 19, made his professional debut this year and posted a .297/.414/.446 slash line in the Dominican Summer League.
