Yankees Sign Utility Player José Rojas to Minor League Deal

Rojas, who had a strong performance in Korea last year, is invited to major league spring training.

José Rojas, a 30-year-old utility player, has been signed by the Yankees to a minor league deal, with an invitation to major league spring training.
Rojas, who hits left-handed, can play the infield and corner outfield, and has previously played 83 major league games with the Angels.
In 2023, Rojas played for the KBO’s Doosan Bears in Korea, where he hit .253/.345/.474 with 19 home runs and 65 RBI over 122 games.
Rojas also recently played in the Mexican Pacific Winter League, where he hit .457 with three homers and 10 RBI over 13 games.
The Yankees have signed several players like Rojas this offseason, including Josh VanMeter, Kevin Smith and J.C. Escarra, all of whom have experience playing the infield and outfield.
