Yankees' Ryan Yarbrough is heading to the injured list.

Overview

  • Ryan Yarbrough was placed on the 15-day injured list retroactive to June 20 after scans revealed a low-grade right oblique strain that ended his last bullpen session.
  • Allan Winans was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following a 7–0 record and 0.90 ERA and is lined up to start Monday in Cincinnati against Chase Burns.
  • Left-handed reliever Jayvien Sandridge was also summoned from Triple-A to bolster the bullpen following Yarbrough’s injury.
  • The Yankees entered the week already without ace Gerrit Cole (Tommy John surgery) and Luis Gil (lat strain) while Marcus Stroman is slated for a third minor-league rehab start.
  • New York has now used eight different starters this season as injuries continue to force constant rotation adjustments.
