Kirk Cousins, NFL quarterback and Jake's cousin, played a pivotal role in encouraging Jake not to quit baseball back in 2019.
Despite a challenging 2023 season with a 4.82 ERA over nine appearances, Jake showed promise during spring training with the White Sox, posting a 1.29 ERA.
The acquisition comes after the Yankees' strong start to the 2024 season, including a four-game sweep of the Astros.
