• Test rider Augusto Fernandez, newly extended with Yamaha through 2027, debuted the YZR‑M1 V4 as a wildcard and stopped in FP1 with an electronic issue before a late Turn 2 fall in the afternoon.
• He finished the afternoon training 19th in 1:31.678, 1.198 seconds off the top, and the motorcycle was reported to have only light damage from the crash.
• Yamaha presented the V4 as a ground‑up package targeting better grip, braking and integrated aerodynamics, and says the Misano run is an evaluation step before a 2026 rollout decision with further tests planned.
