Yamaha Recalls 19,300 Drive 2 Golf Carts Over Missing Stop Lights

Owners are instructed to stop driving the vehicles until dealers install two stop lights at no cost.

Overview

  • The recall was announced Oct. 16 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and covers model years 2021–2025 sold from June 2020 through July 2025.
  • Affected series include Drive 2 J0D, J0E, J2D and J5C, plus the J2D Super Hauler, with specific serial number ranges identified by regulators.
  • Yamaha will install two stop lights free of charge and will provide pickup or on-site service for customers who cannot get to a dealer.
  • No injuries have been reported to date, and owners can call 866-747-4027 or email ygc_callcenter@yamaha-motor.com for help confirming serial numbers and scheduling service.
  • In a separate action, Yamaha recalled about 4,300 model year 2017–2024 DR2A/DR2E carts for potential brake failure, with free brake repairs available.
