Yamaha Enters India’s EV Scooter Market With Aerox‑E and EC‑06

Pricing and broad deliveries will follow once charging and battery‑swap networks are ready.

Overview

  • Yamaha unveiled two electric scooters for India: the performance‑oriented Aerox‑E and the commuter‑focused EC‑06, confirming technical specifications and feature sets.
  • The Aerox‑E uses a 9.4–9.5 kW motor with 48 Nm, dual detachable 3 kWh batteries (6 kWh total) and a certified 106 km range, plus Eco/Standard/Power modes, a Boost and reverse function, TFT with navigation, Y‑Connect, ABS and traction control.
  • The EC‑06 pairs a fixed 4 kWh battery with a 4.5 kW (6.7 kW peak) motor, targets about 160 km certified/IDC range, supports roughly nine‑hour home charging, and offers an LCD display, SIM‑based telematics, three ride modes, reverse assist and 24.5 litres of under‑seat storage.
  • Yamaha said the Aerox‑E is developed for Indian conditions and indicated prices will be announced around Q1 2026, aligning deliveries with the rollout of charging and battery‑swap infrastructure in major cities.
  • Yamaha also expanded its ICE lineup at the event, launching the XSR155 at ₹1.49–1.50 lakh (ex‑showroom Delhi) and introducing the FZ‑Rave at ₹1.17 lakh.
