Overview

• Summer 2025 works wrapped up repairs and upgrades on the Calvelo, Soutomaior and O Xirimbao pedestrian bridges with a combined €220,000 investment
• Calvelo’s 30-metre span received €69,000 in repairs over seven months, covering concrete supports, deck replacements and an informational panel
• O Xirimbao’s 80-metre crossing was closed for several months while €91,000 funded pillar reinforcement, metal cord cleaning and plate replacements
• Projects were designed to blend infrastructure with natural landscapes and bolster user safety in rural tourism and hiking zones
• A follow-on contract is now in process to build a recycled-wood stepped ramp improving access to the Calvelo hanging bridge
