Overview

  • On July 7, the Xunta approved the regulatory order formalizing the Bono Peixe scheme and opening retailer registration from July 11 ahead of consumer access to 50-euro vouchers on July 28.
  • The vouchers offer a 25% discount up to €5 per purchase at participating fishmongers, allow unused balance to roll over for ten weeks and are backed by weekly €250,000 releases that total €2.5 million with an estimated €10 million economic impact.
  • Public employees will receive a 0.5% salary increase with average backdated pay of €393 per worker scheduled for the July and August payrolls, costing around €53 million.
  • A €400 million rare diseases strategy will benefit about 5,200 patients with telemedicine services for children, expanded neonatal screenings, robotic rehabilitation and home assistance.
  • Unemployment training will be shortened, made more flexible and aligned with business needs through a 30% occupancy requirement for public aid, and a Gold Medal ceremony for the Princess of Asturias is scheduled for July 14 in Santiago.
