Overview
- U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded $110.49 million in net inflows for the week ending Aug. 28, the strongest weekly inflow of 2026, bringing cumulative ETF inflows to roughly $1.6–$1.67 billion.
- Despite heavy fund buying, XRP’s spot price pulled back from an August peak near $1.70 and was testing short-term support around $1.34–$1.38 as of Sept. 1.
- Technical analysts, including Ali Martinez, say a near-term breakout was confirmed with a $1.70 target, but the setup requires reclaiming $1.50–$1.60 to validate a sustained run higher.
- Near-term supply and positioning risks include a scheduled 1 billion XRP escrow release on Sept. 1 (historically leaving a net 200–400 million XRP available), a CFTC-reported net-short position, and large ETF holdings such as Bitwise’s ~365.35 million XRP (~$507M).
- Two looming catalysts that could amplify volatility are a Senate cloture vote on the CLARITY Act on Sept. 15 and Evernorth’s Nasdaq shareholder vote on Sept. 30, both of which could change regulatory clarity or institutional demand and therefore affect price and flows.
