Xiaomi 17 Series Debuts in China With Pro Models Adding ‘Dynamic Back’ Display

A China-first launch positions Xiaomi’s latest flagships as a direct iPhone rival through big batteries, Leica cameras, 100 W charging.

  • The 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max add rear Dynamic Back screens measuring about 2.7 and 2.9 inches at 120 Hz with peak brightness up to 3,500 cd/m² for widgets, media controls and selfie previews.
  • All models use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with configurations up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB UFS 4.1 storage.
  • Battery capacities are 7,000 mAh (17), 6,300 mAh (17 Pro) and 7,500 mAh (17 Pro Max), supporting 100 W PPS wired charging and up to 50 W proprietary wireless charging.
  • Each phone features a triple 50 MP Leica camera system with a 5× optical zoom, and the Pro Max employs a larger f/2.6 telephoto sensor versus f/3.0 on the Pro.
