Xbox Tests Streaming of Owned Games on Consoles for Select Users

Microsoft begins beta testing a feature that lets Game Pass Ultimate subscribers stream digitally owned games directly on Xbox consoles.

The new feature, called 'Stream Your Own Game,' allows Xbox Insiders in the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead rings to stream select games they own on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Currently, the feature supports 50 games, including popular titles like Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Hogwarts Legacy, with more games planned for future inclusion.
To access the feature, users must have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and own the games digitally; physical disc ownership does not qualify.
This functionality aims to reduce the need for downloads, allowing players to quickly access games without using local storage, though a stable internet connection is required.
Microsoft plans to roll out this feature to all users in 2025, expanding its cloud gaming ecosystem across multiple devices, including PCs and the Xbox app.
