Xbox Tests Five New Dashboard, Save and Badge Features with Insider Rollout

Microsoft is collecting Insider feedback as early builds reach Alpha rings to refine the console experience.

Overview

  • The new features began rolling to Alpha and Alpha Skip‑Ahead Xbox Insiders on Wednesday and select items are available to broader users, with Microsoft saying fuller availability will arrive in the coming weeks or months.
  • Home changes let players remove any item from the Recent Games & Apps list, including Play History, and enable an immersive background mode that hides UI to showcase dynamic or custom backgrounds.
  • A new local save management tool lets users view, sort, and delete unused local game save files while the latest saves stay backed up to the Xbox network and will sync when a game is relaunched.
  • Profile badges now include high‑resolution artwork and metadata showing when and how they were earned, and Microsoft is issuing a commemorative Day One badge for players who unlocked the Day One achievement on Xbox One launch day.
  • Purchased games will be automatically removed from wishlists to reduce manual cleanup and Microsoft is asking Insiders for feedback through the Insider Hub and community channels as teams iterate on these platform updates.
