Overview
- Xbox launched an early-release Xbox Backward Compatibility on PC on July 22, 2026, making classic original Xbox games playable on Windows 11 and supported handhelds.
- The first four titles are BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fuzion Frenzy, and each is available to buy on PC and included with all Xbox Game Pass plans.
- Microsoft confirmed existing digital console licenses now carry over to PC and handhelds via Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming, so owners of digital copies do not need to rebuy the games.
- PC builds include new technical options such as up to 4x resolution upscaling, VSync, fullscreen and windowed modes, anisotropic filtering and enhanced anti-aliasing while preserving original gameplay.
- Microsoft said achievements will be added to select original Xbox games later this year and indicated this digital-only effort is the start of a broader program to bring more legacy Xbox titles to PC over time.
